Join the Wiener & Kraut Day Parade!

Sign up online to reserve your place in the parade, then complete the participant form to tell us about your group, float, vehicle, organization, or dog entry. Additional parade details, including lineup location and arrival time, will be emailed closer to the event.

Become a Volunteer!

Help make the 66th Annual Wiener & Kraut Day a success by volunteering to serve food and beverages! We have volunteer shifts available throughout the day at both Downtown Waterloo and Fireman's Park. Sign up for the shift that works best for you and help us continue one of Waterloo's favorite community traditions. Community groups are also encouraged to volunteer together.

The Hot Dog Eating Contest and the hilarious Wiener Toss are returning to Waterloo's 66th Annual Wiener & Kraut Day on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 12:00 pm!!

Hot Dog Eating Contest

Think you can out-eat the competition? Bring your appetite and compete for bragging rights!

Wiener Toss

This crowd favorite is guaranteed to get everyone laughing! Participants wear a string tied around their waist with a hot dog attached to the end. Without using your hands, you must wiggle, sway, and move until you can flip the hot dog into your mouth. It sounds easy... until you try it!

Whether you're competing or cheering from the sidelines, these events are always packed with laughs and excitement.

Lace up your running shoes! The Friends of KJML 5K Run & 2-Mile Walk is back as part of Waterloo's 66th Annual Wiener & Kraut Day!

Race starts at 8:00 AM

Whether you're running for a personal best or enjoying a morning walk with family and friends, this is a great way to kick off a day full of Wiener & Kraut Day festivities!
