Members may support one another through direct referrals for services such as accounting, building maintenance, staff recruitment, and marketing. For newer organizations, membership offers immediate access to local contacts, helping to accelerate integration into the community. Through collaboration, shared resources, and a unified voice on important issues, this membership helps strengthen community impact, encourage healthy competition, and enhance the ability to serve the community effectively.

For-Profit Membership – Make a Difference: Our For-Profit Membership, Make a Difference, is a voting membership designed for businesses that want an active voice in shaping the future of the local business community. Members gain valuable opportunities to network, share information, and access shared resources that support business growth. Through direct collaboration, members can refer and support one another with services such as accounting, building maintenance, staff recruitment, and marketing. For new business owners, membership provides immediate connections to other local businesses, helping accelerate integration into the community. Together, members work to share resources, unite on important issues, and develop tools that strengthen profitability, encourage healthy competition, and attract customers to the community.

Vendor Membership: Our Vendor Membership is a non-voting membership designed for businesses that participate in multiple vendor events throughout the year and want a streamlined, cost-effective way to stay involved. Members who wish to have voting rights must select a For-Profit Membership. This membership provides access to a variety of popular community events, including—but not limited to—the Waterloo Wine Walk, Small Business Saturday, Wiener and Kraut Day, Spooktacular, and Cinco De Mayo. The Vendor Markets are not included , but can be purchased at additional prices. Vendor Members enjoy consistent opportunities to showcase their products and services, connect directly with customers, and build brand recognition while being part of Waterloo’s vibrant and growing event lineup.

New tools, information, and opportunities are added regularly, including educational materials, business support resources, promotional opportunities, and updates on local initiatives. This ongoing expansion ensures members stay informed, connected, and equipped with relevant resources that help adapt to changing needs, strengthen operations, and maximize the value of membership throughout the year.

  • Membership in the Waterloo Business Association is offered through a one-time annual fee that covers the full membership year. Cancellations are considered on an individual basis and must be reviewed and approved by the Board of Directors. Members who choose not to continue are welcome to simply opt out during the annual membership renewal period held each January, ensuring flexibility while maintaining consistency for the association’s planning and programs.

  • Yes, there are many volunteer opportunities available through the Waterloo Business Association. Volunteers can participate in a variety of annual events and community initiatives throughout the year, with opportunities suitable for individuals and groups. We also collaborate with students seeking volunteer hours and welcome partnerships with schools and youth programs. In addition, the association supports small organizations by providing compensation for group volunteers, making it a flexible and inclusive way to give back while supporting local events and community growth.
